“We were on the look out for a Planning System that would allow the business to gather and collate information leading to improved sustainability and profitability. We elected to go with Seiki based on past knowledge and business fit, so we could initially gather live shop floor data on ageing machines. We needed to have a modern system to achieve these goals. We set out with this in mind and established that Seiki Systems was also the system to aid us with a solution to upgrade our Scheduling, offering a more compact package for the business.
We were fully supported from day one, with their M.D John Davis driving this from Seiki. His knowledge aided us as we started on our road to implementation. “I use the software every day. We use the scheduler software to actually advise our sales department on lead times. The is a very useful tool. This software is linked to our MRP system, so all jobs are pulled through and scheduled to all machines. Jobs are easily swapped about to ensure maximum economy. I find the analysis software very useful as the live status tab gives a live view of all the machines on the shop floor. Also I use the Machine Utilisation tab to report all diversions for our monthly report. The job report tab is extremely useful for tracking jobs and for collecting important data. I have four years history of all jobs which have passed through the machine shop. In the last two years, I have been using the OEE tab to produce a weekly report. I use this to give feedback to both shifts in weekly meetings. This drives continuous improvement.”
